Kuchi tribal jewellery is made completely by hand, using centuries-old designs. There are no local sources of silver or gold in Afghanistan, so much of the jewellery is made from alloys, made by melting down old coins, bicycle spokes, television antennas and umbrella spokes.
This well-preserved vintage pendant is unique in that it is in original condition, just as the maker made it, many decades ago. Many of these vintage pieces have been taken apart, reassembled, repaired and rearranged, but our range is authentic and immaculate. The detailed pendant with red, blue and green inlay work, is strung onto an antique gold coloured chain, so you can wear it if you desire, or you can take it off the chain to hang as an ornamental piece.
Total length, including chain, is 50cm.
